More and more women are considering a career in the trucking industry than ever before. Women are finally starting to figure out the money that can be made in the truck driving industry and they are cashing in.



All that they really accomplish by trying to scare you is filling you with a lack of trust and loyalty towards them. Most large companies are full of drivers that have hit bridges, rolled JD Truck Training Centre, been late for deliveries, and on and on. Does this mean you won't ever get fired? Certainly not. I've been fired a few times by idiots I've never met on some committee making decisions based on little or no real facts or understanding about me or my situation.

4) Test and receive your CDL. The CDL is required for anyone who wants to drive tractor trailers, buses, tow trucks, and other trucks which way at least 26,000 pounds. Most states require the future driver to be at least 21, although there are states that will issue a CDL to ages as low as 18. The CDL's are only good for the driver's residence, but if you want to get started early, hopefully you reside in one of these states. There are several endorsements that you can apply for once you receive your CDL, including Hazardous Materials and Tank Trucks, but those are for later in your career. Yea, I know the requirements to become a truck driver are not much. All you need to do is be able to speak English, read English, and be able to write in the USA. Also you must not have a felony record, or be mental. Training going through Truck driving school is easy enough, it only takes 3 weeks, and you are almost guaranteed a CDL license. It gets very hard after you go through school,believe me.

If you are running early make sure to ask about delivering early. Wasting your drive time at a truck stop because you're early may be relaxing now, but when you consider what it may be costing you, you may reconsider. The sooner your empty, the sooner your on the road again.

Becoming a good HR Truck Licence driver, especially over the road or regional, requires far more knowledge than most people outside the industry would ever begin to imagine. Every state has its own set of rules, regulations, and procedures. Go from New York to Los Angeles and you will cross through about a dozen states. That's a dozen different sets of rules.

Once you successfully pass the driving course then you will go to work for the company that hired you during your training period as a driver trainee. You will be coupled up with a more seasoned driver for a certain amount of time, probably not less than a month and longer in some cases.

You must be able to pass a physical exam and a drug test given by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This is to ensure you have no physical conditions (or substance abuse) that will interfere with the safe handling of a commercial truck. During your employment, you will also be subject to random drug testing. You must also pass the physical exam every two years while employed as a truck driver.
